Key Stage Three

Key Stage Three refers to years 7 to 9.

When students reach GCSE, there is an expectation that they are capable of performing basic literary skills within their work. These skills are taught as a process through Key Stage 2 (years 3 to 6) and KS3 (years 7 to 9). KS3 sessions will focus on developing the skills the student will need for GCSE as they encounter them in KS3. We can run our sessions concurrently to their formal teaching as an aid to ensure their full understanding of the topics before they move onto something new.

If there are particular skills the student or their teacher feel could use some additional help, we can utilise our sessions to help develop these skills. I ask that the student consults with their teacher both before and during the course of our sessions, not only to track the progress they are making, but also to stay updated on any skills the teacher may want us to focus on.
